Following a degree in Graphic Design at the London College of Printing I spent fifteen years as a designer and Art Director for London and New York based design consultancies.

Alongside my design career, I also set up creative art workshops at housing projects in New York, and later a homeless day centre and primary schools in London.

This led me to a PGCE teacher training in Art & design at the Institute of Education, University of London and I spent the next twelve years working on education projects related to architecture and the built environment. I was appointed architecture education officer for the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Victoria and Albert Museum.  With access to over a million architectural drawings, the architecture gallery and the museum building, I developed learning resources for schools and higher education.

I enjoy making pictures of different types of houses, and being able to give people something that is aesthetically pleasing but that has personal meaning. I’m happy to include personal details like drawn curtains, the reminder of the resident teenager who didn’t get up before noon, and the splash of paint on the wall, someone’s botched DIY job!

I love looking at and exploring different types of buildings; their materials, styles, features and contexts.

If you like the look of my work, I would be glad to paint a picture for you.
